ISFS'2023 is the first conference organized by the Polish Society for Fuzzy Sets, which was established in 2022 to associate the Polish community dealing with the theory and application of fuzzy set theory (POLFUZZ, https://polfuzz.org/).
The first conference organized under the auspices of POLFUZZ will take place in Rzeszów (Poland) and its continuation is planned every two years.
The idea to organize a conference in Rzeszów aimed at integrating the local and international environment dealing with fuzzy sets and related topics was born in 2014.
A group risen by Professor Józef Drewniak, composed of Urszula Bentkowska, Paweł Drygaś, Anna Król, Barbara Pękala, and Ewa Rak, took the initiative to organize an international conference at University of Rzeszów with the topic of fuzzy set theory, its extensions and applications.
The conference was a regular point of exchange of scientific experiences of the communities from Rzeszów, Warsaw, Poznań, Katowice, Bratislava but the list of participants was not limited to Europe. Since 2017, the conference has been organized in cooperation with Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, where the series of seminars are under the name Uncertainty Modelling.
The following editions took place at the University of Rzeszów.
• The International Symposium On the Eve of Golden Jubilee of Fuzzy Sets (ISFS 2014), November 25, 2014.
• The 2nd International Symposium on Fuzzy Sets (ISFS 2015) – Golden Jubilee of Fuzzy Sets, December 3-4, 2015 (Mathware & Soft Computing Magazine 22, page 25).
• The 3rd International Symposium on Fuzzy Sets (ISFS 2017) – Uncertainty Modelling, May 19-20, 2017.
• The 4th International Symposium on Fuzzy Sets (ISFS 2019) – Uncertainty Modelling, May 23-24, 2019, (Mathware & Soft Computing Magazine 22, page 12).
